Porting from E2B
This is a port to CE's own API, not an E2B compatibility endpoint. An unmodified E2B SDK cannot point at CE v1. Based on each provider's public documentation; check their current docs before migrating.
Call mapping
| E2B | CE v1 | Semantics differ |
|---|---|---|
Sandbox.create({template, timeoutMs}) |
POST /computers {image, timeout_seconds} |
create target is p95 at or below 120 seconds; private images instead of templates |
Sandbox.connect(id) |
GET /computers/{id}, then resume if paused, then POST /access |
connect does not extend the timeout |
sandbox.setTimeout(ms) |
POST /extend {timeout_at} (absolute) or {seconds} (added) |
— |
pause() / resume |
POST /pause / POST /resume |
memory written to disk; seconds to a minute (target) |
kill() |
DELETE /computers/{id} + confirmation header |
— |
commands.run(cmd[, {background}]) |
data POST /exec / POST /processes |
— |
pty.create(…) |
data POST /pty + WebSocket |
WebSocket, not Connect-RPC |
files.read/write/list/remove |
data /files… |
— |
getHost(port) |
POST /previews {port} |
needs a call; private by default |
createSnapshot() |
POST /computers/{id}/snapshots |
restores in place only; use private images for copies |
updateNetwork(…) |
PUT /computers/{id}/network |
— |
Desktop SDK screenshot, leftClick, write, press |
data /desktop/screenshot, /desktop/actions |
coordinates in display pixels |
What to change
Convert durations expressed in ms to CE's explicit seconds/absolute-deadline operations and keep their different meanings. Mint separate data-plane access, preserve CE list envelopes and poll accepted operations. Templates do not become private images by renaming a field; stop/capture and create-from-image are separate operations. Forking a running computer is not available at launch and must not be used in a port.
Names are used only to identify the source interface. No performance, price or drop-in compatibility claim is made. See API conventions and Operations.
