Install Google Chrome yourself
The base image includes Chromium. Google Chrome is not redistributed with it. If you need Chrome, install it yourself inside your computer under Google's current terms.
Install in the guest
Download the amd64 Debian package from Google's official Chrome distribution, verify its provenance through Google's documented mechanism and install that package with the guest package manager. Run these steps inside the computer, not on your workstation. It needs guest outbound access to the official package origin. Review Google's terms before installation.
Choose the browser deliberately
Installing Chrome does not replace the already running Chromium session or the CE-managed CDP endpoint. Launch your chosen browser with an explicit separate profile and local debugging configuration only if you understand the guest-local exposure. Do not bind a browser debugger to a public interface or publish it as an unauthenticated preview. A CE browser session is bound to the managed browser; an arbitrary Chrome process does not inherit that session.
Return to the managed browser
Close the separately launched Chrome process and its profile when done. Use the standard browser session for supported viewer/CDP handoff. A Chrome you install yourself is outside what Dory manages.
Dory is in development; these pages describe the planned service and may change. Questions: support@computeengines.com.
